When I was a small child, my grandmother used to read me a childrens book about a little boy who got a ride in a Piper J-3 Cub. After the ride, the boy named the airplane "Sunbeam"... Remembering the little story, I made a decal for the Cub called "Lil Sunbeam"...

My Cub with the very book my grandmother read to me as a small boy
and after which my Cub is named...

The little book is faded, and the pages yellowed and brittle,
but the wonderful memories from so long ago are as alive and fresh in my heart,
and more precious as they grow older with me...
